Yes, its true! Up from second place in 2011, Wisconsin led the nation in carrot production in 2012!
We produced 118,900 tons of carrots in 2012, 37% of the whole nation’s carrots!
Help Potter’s celebrate this Badger State milestone by enjoying a package of our Carrot Grahams. Hitting the shelves on July 1, this is one of my favorite grahams. The little bits of carrot make it look so pretty and the delicate flavor blends well with so many cheeses. Lots of folks think that a sweet graham cracker is for kids but I cannot stress enough- if you need a little adventure in your life, try this cracker with your favorite cheese.
So, now I should tell you Wisconsin was also number one in snap bean production and third in green peas but so far I don’t have a cracker for those. BUT… wait till fall, we were third in sweet corn production. Once our Grilled Corn & Onion hits the shelves sometime in August or September, maybe we can do something to bring up that bronze status!
Go Wisconsin!
